The VII International Symposium on Cucurbits will be held in Zhengzhou, Henan Province of China. It offers a great opportunity to exchange the latest research and technology on cucurbits crops. Scientists, researchers, students, technical staff, growers, and other interested delegates will present their technical discoveries and share their experience and knowledge on the production of Cucurbitaceae crops worldwide. The 7th International Symposium on Cucurbits will cover a wide range of topics including Genetics and Breeding, Genomics and Biotechnology, Crop Production, Physiology and Management, Biotic Stresses and Abiotic Stresses, Fruit Quality and Post-Harvest.

The main events will take place in Zhengzhou city, the capital of Henan Province. Zhengzhou is in central part of China, the hub linking the East and the West and connecting the North and the South China via freeways, high speed train and airplane. Its famous tourist attractions include Shaolin Temple and the Yellow River Scenic Spots. Close to Zhengzhou city, there are Kaifeng and Luoyang Ancient Capitals. Henan is a key province for the cultivation and research of vegetables and cucurbit crops, including watermelon, melon, cucumber, squash, wax gourd, luffa, and bitter gourd. Zhengzhou Fruit Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, located in Zhengzhou, has National Mid-term GenBank for Watermelon & Melon and National Horticultural Germplasm Resource Bank. The institute focuses on watermelon and melon germplasm enhancement, breeding, pest management.
